Hailing from Sydney, Kerryn is passionate about art, reading and creative writing. She’s in her final year studying linguistics and fine art. We talk all things self-love and find out her top book recommendations.
ON HER PASSIONS:
“I’m passionate about art and delving into beautiful things, language and creative writing. I read a lot too so literature is a big interest of mine.”
WHEN SHE FEELS MOST EMPOWERED:
“I feel most empowered after a workout, or when I’ve been on a really long walk and there’s a beautiful view at the end.”
“I take moments for myself and I really invest in being present for them. If I’m doing a face mask, I’m fully there for it so I sit down completely relaxed and indulge in those little moments.”
HER ADVICE TO FEEL COMFY IN YOUR OWN SKIN:
“Take the time to take care of yourself properly. Do all the self-care things like pampering, eat the right foods to feel good and pay attention to your body. You realise what makes you feel bad and what makes you feel good. It’s all about listening to yourself and respecting your body.”
HER BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS:
“Light Boxes by Shane Jones, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, Transit by Rachel Cusk, The Snowman by Jo Nesbo, Swimming Home by Deborah Levy, anything by Haruki Murakami or Oliver Sacks or Steven Pinker.”
